Case study

Discover Lefkada

Places to stay visited in person, beaches and experiences, in a guide that sells travel advice.

Context

Travel

Anyone looking for a place to stay on Lefkada finds the offers scattered across several booking platforms, all of them with the same generic listings. The questions that actually decide the choice — which beach is close, how you get there on that particular road, which property really suits you — went unanswered, and the local hosts only reached the visitor through a middleman. It had to be a selection made by someone who knows the island, with availability visible and a direct road to the host.

Architecture

The selection is made by a host who lives on the island all year, not pulled in from an aggregator.

The questions that decide the choice — which beach is close, how you get there on that road — only have an answer if somebody has been there.

Every property has its own calendar, visible before a request.

The visitor no longer sends a request for a period already taken, so nobody waits on an answer for nothing.

The request goes straight to the host, on the channel she actually uses.

The local host reaches the visitor with no middleman, so without his commission and his rules.

What I built

01

Stays chosen by a local host

Every property in the “Stay” section is described by a host who lives on the island all year, not pulled in automatically from an aggregator.

02

Availability calendar per property

Every stay in the list has its own availability calendar, visible before you send a request.

03

A guide to the beaches

The “Beaches” section lays out a list of the island's beaches, with notes on access and the kind of shore.

04

Direct contact, no middleman

Requests for a stay or for advice go straight to the host, on WhatsApp, on Instagram or through the contact form.
