Case study

Hainaria

A fashion shop with virtual try-on of the outfit and its own CMS, with no platform subscription.

Context

E-commerce

Hainaria describes the problem itself: buying clothes online usually means surprises on delivery, because the piece does not look or sit the way you expected. Both sides pay for that — the customer waits for her money back and ends up without the garment, while the shop reprocesses the piece and loses a sale it had already made. The customer had to see how it looks on her before she orders, not after the parcel arrives.

Architecture

The try-on does not run inside the customer's request; it runs on a queue that retries.

Rendering an outfit takes tens of seconds, and the service doing it can fail. The customer is not left with a frozen page, and a failed try-on picks itself up again instead of being lost.

When the rendering service is unavailable, the try-on is composed locally rather than disappearing.

A third-party outage would take off the site the very feature people come for. What is left is a simpler try-on, instead of an error.

Every garment tried on is layered over the previous result.

You see the whole outfit, not one piece on its own - which is the question the customer would otherwise have ordered in order to answer.

What I built

01

Virtual try-on in three steps

The VTO studio asks for a photo of your own or a saved avatar, then the piece chosen from the collection, and an AI model renders the outfit worn by the customer before the order.

02

Its own account and basket

The shop has its own login and shopping basket, without depending on a third-party marketplace.

03

A separate K-Beauty category

Alongside the clothing collection, the site has a section dedicated to Korean beauty products.

04

Online payment with Netopia

The order in the basket is paid for online through Netopia.

Result

What's gone
  • Ordering without knowing how the piece sits on you.
  • The return to reprocess and the sale lost after it had already been made.
  • Depending on a third-party marketplace for the account, the basket and the payment.
What runs now
  • The outfit is seen worn by the customer before the order, piece over piece.
  • The order is paid online through Netopia, from the shop's own basket.
  • The Korean beauty products are bought from the same basket as the clothes.
